Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo

The Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo perfectly encapsulates the passion surrounding the high-performance technology that goes into “N" and serves as a commemoration of Hyundai's 50th anniversary in 2017.

This exciting machine offers a glimpse of what's in store for the next-generation of high-performance vehicles, and showcases the unique characteristics that represent what N performance is all about.

The Ultimate Future Design High-Performance Technology

The N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo concept gets its inspiration from aeronautics, specifically from the testing grounds at Rogers Dry Lake (formerly Muroc Dry Lake). This is where pilots and astronauts have trained and risked their lives for further development of aeronautics and aviation for over 50 years.

The innovative and audacious spirit these test pilots brought to Muroc, which was once just a dry lake bed in this area, was the source of inspiration and motif for the design of the Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo.

High-Performance, Yet Eco-Friendly

The N 2025 powertrain is based on the world’s 1st mass-produced hydrogen fuel cell that got developed by Hyundai in 2013. It features a total output of 640kw (884PS). Dual fuel cell stacks provide 500kw (680PS), and a supercapacitor system generates an extra 150kw (204PS) by using energy from regenerative braking. All this power is delivered by the eco-friendly, yet powerful IIDC (Independent In-wheel motor Drive Control) system.

The flexible CFRP monocoque structure and compact lightweight fuel cell stacks keep the car extremely lean with just 972 kg. This provides the Vision GT with a power-to-weight ratio that rivals the most exotic supercars. A low center of gravity and the powerful IIDC make this car equally enjoyable on the race track.

    Dual Fuel Cell

The compact, lightweight dual fuel cell stacks provide 50kW (680PS) of electric power through a chemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen.

    2
    Supercapacitor

The supercapacitor system generates an additional 150kW (204PS) by using energy that gets regenerated during braking and idling.

    In-Wheel Motors

Four ultra-high-speed independent in-wheel motors create the remarkable power that comes from the fuel cell system to provide optimal traction.

    4
    Liquid Hydrogen Tank

The liquid hydrogen tank is made from carbon-fiber for both safety and weight reduction. The tank was designed in a U-shape to achieve optimal weight distribution with a low center of gravity.

    Motor Control Unit

The IIDC (Independent In-wheel motor Drive Control) system controls power delivery that best demonstrates itself on a challenging racetrack, especially on the chicane where N cars can show their full potential.
